Interesting conviction recently of a repeat poacher who has really lifted the crime to an egregious level. We’re watching this case closely to see if this offender qualifies for new penalties that went into effect Jan. 1. You might recall that Audubon California was instrumental in getting these new penalties signed into law, as poaching has become a major threat to birds and other wildlife in recent years.
