Staff at the Audubon Starr Ranch Sanctuary in Orange County recently did some bird banding, and we were fortunate to come across a Coastal Cactus Wren, a species of special concern in California. Awesome. Here in Los Angeles we are hoping for the day when we see a Cactus Wren return to the hills of Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook State Park thanks to the restoration efforts of the Greenhouse Interns from Dorsey High in south Central.
