Winter bird count for kids in San Rafael

In January, we held a winter bird count at the Pickleweed Community Center in San Rafael. Lots of children and families turned out. It was a great time, and proof that birds matter to everybody. Our partners on the project included WildCare and PRBO Conservation Science. Check out the video:

    Here’s a chance for another Kids’ Bird Count if you missed the San Rafael one — this Saturday Jan. 28, Golden Gate Audubon is holding a free Winter Bird Count for Kids at Lake Merritt in Oakland. Meet at the Rotary Nature Center at 9:30 a.m. (600 Bellevue Avenue.) Bring warm clothes, lunch & water. Hope to see you there!
